Healing in Unseen Places

By: Amara Soliel

Welcome! If you’ve ever struggled to find your voice or felt alone on your healing journey, you’re in the right place.

Welcome to The Healing Verse, a place where music, memory, and self-love meet. Here, I share the stories and songs that have helped me heal, in the hope that they might help you find your own verse of healing, too.

This blog is my space to heal, reflect, and reclaim my story. Here, I’ll share personal experiences, lessons learned, and the poetry that’s helped me process life’s ups and downs.

Whether you’re seeking encouragement, understanding, or simply a sense of connection, I hope you find comfort in these words.

People often see fragments. Some say I appear as a bright, kind young woman. Someone told me, “You are as precious as diamonds, and just as rare.” But what’s seen outside is only part of the story.

I live with high-functioning depression and anxiety. There was a time I barely held myself together, struggling in college and appearing okay while feeling heavy inside. I’ve accepted my humanity capable of good and bad. Mistakes shape me, but don’t break me.

To understand my reactions during struggles, I look back at my childhood. As the youngest, I often felt invisible beside my older sisters, who seemed distant. I was a “glass child,” noticed only when I behaved. Growing up this way made me curious and attentive. I learned to read a room with my eyes, heart, and emotions. That awareness now guides how I navigate relationships and understand myself.

Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to have a strong support system. These are people who tell me the truth, even when it’s hard. Sometimes that means being challenged, asked questions, or gently pushed. It always helps me grow. Being honest about who I am and what I need doesn’t just help me, it helps the people around me too. The truth can set you free, but it can also be painful. Facing the good, the bad, and the parts of myself I didn’t like was one of the hardest lessons, and yet one of the most freeing.

During my hardest times, I felt alone and isolated. I sometimes blamed others, thinking it would help, but learned that taking responsibility allowed me to grow and connect. I learned to give myself grace and take healing one day at a time. When I make mistakes, I don’t quit. I try again, approach things differently, and keep learning. Healing is daily, and grace is present in every step.

I invite you to join me and share your thoughts, your own stories, or what you’d like to see in future posts. You are seen, heard, and understood here.

Everyone is on their own messy, beautiful journey. I hope you leave here feeling encouraged, seen, and inspired to embrace your own healing story. If this space resonates, share topics or stories you’d like me to explore. I’m grateful you’re here.
